A school for the children of families who wanted them educated at home in the Peace Country — and among the church.
Peace Christian Academy was founded in 1996 by a small group of Grimshaw families who wanted a school where the Bible was not treated as an add-on subject but as the ground on which every other subject stood. Thirty years on, we remain small, remain rural, and remain in the town we started in.
We teach the Alberta Program of Studies through the Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) PACE curriculum from Kindergarten through Grade 12. Graduates leave us with an Alberta High School Diploma and, we pray, a formed conscience — students who know their Bible, their neighbours, and their trade.
Peace Christian Academy is accredited by Alberta Education and operates under the governance of Lakeland Christian Schools Society, alongside our sister school in Cold Lake.

History
From twelve students in a church basement.
The school opened in September 1996 with twelve students and two teachers in a borrowed hall at the Grimshaw Baptist Church. The founding board was made up of four farm families who had been quietly educating their children at home for years and wanted more shared classroom time.
A permanent building on 53rd Street was completed in 2003. In 2011, Peace Christian Academy joined Lakeland Christian Schools Society — a governance partnership with the older Lakeland Christian Academy in Cold Lake that opened access to shared administrative support while keeping the school family-run at the local level.
Enrolment has held steady near two hundred students since the mid-2010s.
